Read the scriptures at least twice then brainstorm examples of self-control.

Questions:

1.According to your understanding what do you think will happen to a person who doesn’t have self-control?

 2.In the bible there were people who lacked self-control and they ended up sinning against God. Identify the bible character that lacked self-control by reading the following:

·Because of lack of self-control, she ate a piece of the fruit from the tree forbidden by God

·Because of lack of self-control, he ate the fruit as well.

·Because of lack of self-control and jealousy he killed his brother.

·Because of lack of self-control, they complained in the wilderness to Moses.

3.Write in your own words a summary of Matthew 4:1-11

4.What is a common thing that Jesus always repeats in his response and what can we learn from that?

5.In what area do you need self-control?

Maybe you have a hard time keeping your hands to yourself when you are angry or frustrated about something.

-Is it your tongue? 

- Do you complain a lot?

- Do you use hurtful language? 

What about your free time? 

- Do you help around the house and do your homework? 

- Do you lack self-control and spend too much time on the computer, playing video games, watching TV, etc?
