On "THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING" - (Excerpt from Pastor Dominique’s sermon - thanksgiving seminar)
- by Bishop Tshalo Katshunga
BLESS THE LORD
Jesus Christ healed ten men with Leprosy but among the ten only one came back to give thanksgiving.
The questions to ask ourselves are “Why is it that among the ten only one came back? Why is it that the nine Jewish didn’t come back?” Might it be that the Samaritan understood that he was not entitled to the grace of healing? Could it be that the other nine Jewish leapers thought that because they are Jews it’s their right to be healed and never mind of being grateful. As Christians we have a tendency of forgetting that it is by grace that we are saved and blessed. We must not be like the nine other Jewish leapers who forgot to give thanksgiving to God.
Psalms 103:1-14 reminds us the reasons why we must bless the LORD.
1 Samuel 16:1 (NIV)
The LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”
We have mourned for dead situations to the point of neglecting our duties. It’s time to bless the LORD.
KINGDOM ECONOMICS - From wealth-creation to wealth-management.
Part II: “Wealth in the hands of those who live right”
Wealth in God’s economy is generated by faith through wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. Wealth in the hands of a righteous is to establish God’s covenant in the earth.
DEUTERONOMY 8:18; 1 TIMOTHY 6:17-19; JAMES 5:1-6
1.The principle of wealth in God’s

- Growth : LUKE 7:1-5; ACTS 16:11-15
- Gain : 2CORINTHIANS 8:8-15
3. The problem of wealth among God’s people
- Tends to ensnare its possessor : PROVERBS 18:10-11; 1TIMOTHY 6:9-10; JAMES 5:1-6
- Tends to fly away : PROVERBS 23:5; ECCLESIASTES 2:26; LUKE 19:11-13, 20-27
- Tends to give a false sense of ownership : DEUTERONOMY 8:10-17; LUKE 12:13-21
“The biggest difference between rich people and wealthy people is in the choices and decisions they make every day, plus they behaviour around money.”

Understanding God’s nature, even slightly, will boost your faith thus setting you on course for victorious living.
" In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith."
Four encouraging facts about our Lord:
1. He’s alive and rules over the affairs of men.
EXODUS 3:7-10, 19; DEUTERONOMY 4:19-20; PSALM 24:8-10; ISAIAH 6:1-3; DANIEL 4:26; MATTHEW 6:9-10; HEBREWS 6:16-20 *Our God sees, hears, feels, and reacts.
2. He’s personal and specific. EXODUS 3:13-15; LEVITICUS 25:39-43; 1SAMUEL 22:1-2; JEREMIAH 34:14; LUKE 14:21
3. He responds to faith in an extraordinary way.
MATTHEW 9:18-26 (woman with the issue of blood);
MARK 10:46-52 (Blind Bartimaeus)

God came to restore everything: restore man and resources. Beliefs affect our decisions and influences your behavior which determines your destination. By changing our belief system, embracing Gods word, we can prosper, progress, grow. Key aspects to financial management is budgeting, assets & liabilities and kingdom finance. It is essential to differentiate between needs and wants, and evaluate how how we spend our finances. We need to stop undermining or overlooking what God has given us, the Nothing Except. God has equipped us with different talents, we need to learn how to utilize them. Many a times we are seating on top of a solution or the solution is in front of us but we see it as nothing.
There’s a big gulf between profession and practice. Claiming to trust God and to be his people and yet live in contradiction defeats our Christian faith.
Seeing with the eyes of faith is such a powerful thing! But submitting to the law of love is even better.
WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN YOUR ENEMY IS DELIVERED INTO YOUR HAND?
a) Punish, b) Banish, c) Vanish
a) Forgive, b) Love, c) Release
1. The power of submitting to God.
Luke 22:39-43; Philippians 2:5-9; James 4:7
2. The power of the sovereign law
Proverbs 25:21-22; Proverbs 24:17-18; Exodus 23:4-5; Matthew 5:44-48; Matthew 6:12-15; Romans 12:17-20
1. We need to stay connected even when things are good.
2. Knowing the enemy is not enough. Knowing where they are(their strategy) is essential.
3. Revival is a present continuous term; our avoidance of the devil’s schemes must be continuous too.
4. God provides solutions before the need is known.

One way to evaluate spiritual maturity is by looking at the choices we - the way people live will tell you their level of spiritual maturity. "Faith" - is strong and vigorous trust based on the character and capacity of God. The struggle of many christians is that they do not know God. God is always moved when He sees you trust Him implicitly. The perseverance of faith is an essential nature of spiritual maturity. The greatest resources on which you can depend to hold onto your faith are God's character and God's capacity
There will always be a reason for someone to not give up – once you remove that reason, the person will give up. Every time you find yourself alone or people leave you, this is a sign from God that “You can do it!” Blessed be the name of the LORD for those that have abandoned you because they gave you the ability to be stronger than what you think. 1. He delivers us from death – He is the manager of my life, my life is in His hands. The last word upon my life is from Him. 2. He delivers our eyes from tears – if you belong to God, your life must not be a life of tears. 3. He delivers our feet from falling – All the people who do not love you set traps on your path. God sends a word that prevents you from falling
You can never be committed to God fully or committed to wealth fully. Lord – Yahweh Adonai. Where you choose to invest your trust decides where you end up or how you end up in life. We end up being what we are because of the choices we make. The Power of the name – Names are used to distinguish, describe (define), associate nature, character or attributes. Some of us do not know how to maximise the name of the Lord – God is powerful. God is just not Yahweh, He is Yahweh Adonai. Never neglect the power of a name – it opens or closes doors (opportunities). God is a faithful God. As you mature, begin to make dangerous prayers – God’s word is truth, he can never lie. God is not moved about your current situation, He is sure about His power.
