The cure for restless souls

Jesus called us to come AND have rest but yet many souls do not know what peace is like. What can be done to bring people into a place of total rest whether with or without material possessions? It looks like Christ is not enough for many of us. We only call Him Lord (meaning you are in charge and in control) with our lips. ?
Why are we restless? Is there any cure for restless souls? How can one arrive into a place of total peace?

4 Simple steps to follow:

1. Pause to weigh your options

People are restless because they have not educated themselves to pause and think deeply. It is futile to chase after material possessions. Many things we are craving for are not worth our lives. God says stand at the crossroads and weigh your options. You will never find rest in the Lord by just coming to church. Many sing and worship this God that they do not even pause to know. Pause, reflect deeply and ask yourself, “What am I doing and what am I doing it for?”

2. Try to learn

In the same verse above, God says: ask! This means we have to learn. What is life all about? Why are so many people going into this or that? Paul says:? people of God have zeal but lack knowledge. We need both substance and anointing. Why am I doing what I’m busy with? Why am I calling God the Lord? Is He really my Lord?

Proverbs 24:3-4

The three things that bring stability and abundance: wisdom, understanding and knowledge. It is essential to know the ways of God and get it right by applying the knowledge. Life opens up to those who learn.
3. Choose wisely

Matthew 11:28-29

There is only one address of rest: Jesus (v28). He is the only one carrying rest in his hands. Jesus gave us only one commandment: Bring all your burdens and take my yoke (love). Learn to think in love.

John 8:56-58

Choose the ancient way which is called “I am” (v58). This highlights the ancient way spoken about in Jeremiah 6:16. Furrther reading on this: John 10:10, John 14:6, John17:3

4. Walk single mindedly in what you know to be right and true

Do not let anything move or shake you but stand firm. What is wrong with living right?

Hebrews 4:1-2; Hebrews 6:12

The reason many Christians are wobbly in their walk is simply because they do not add faith to their knowledge and trust in God. God knows your address; rest assured that He is working in your favor.
What will happen finally when one finds rest?

3 John 1:2: “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well”.
When your soul goes well, your body begins to have good health and you begin to prosper.
