Sermon: God our Father
God is a Father. He has a Son - Jesus Christ
God announced His grace right at the beginning.
Even though there was judgment, God opened the door for salvation, for his creation to be saved, and that is grace.
When Adam fell in the beginning, man sinned, and the covenant between him and God was broken. Because God is Father, He always had a plan to restore the relationship with His children. Fellowship between God and man had been broken.
- God had to work towards restoration of the relationship. His plan was to do this in the fullness of time.
God chose men to work in ushering the restoration plan those were Abraham, Moses and David.
Genesis 12 - God appeared to Abraham as God and not as Father. God's original plan was a Father and son relationship.
Exodus 3:6, 18 - God addressed Himself as God and not as a Father to the Israelites. The covenant had been broken and needed restoration.
There are times in life you have to make shifts as God requires. When Peter was shown vision of a cloth with different animals and told to eat, he refused because of being caught up in
- God is a God of shift. He is on a constant move. He is big. Don't be afraid to be great.
Your level of faith should allow God to open His ears to listen to what you have to say.
Hearing God clearly is important.
Instances where Jesus addressed God as Father
Jesus wanted them to know there was more to it than just being Christians, there's a place of Him being our Father. There is a relationship between God and His children.
He is a Father and He gives good gifts to His children. He gave you salvation which is the most important thing in life, you didn't ask for it but He gave it to us.
Our lives should be lives of continual thanksgiving daily. God gave Himself to us.
Forgive others even your earthly fathers so you will be forgiven.
