As Christians we are the people of God, the people of the book. Where do I pledge my allegiance, to God, to my tribe or to the nation? The pressure to confirm is so high when the country/city is in crisis but we have to decide if we are children of God or not. The consequences of broken relationships with God are real and serious.
Contrary to what we may think of the cross in the 21st century; the cross was not a fashion statement, cultural icon, or religious trademark; it was an instrument of death for slave-criminals. The cross was used to inflict maximum pain and total humiliation. Thank God! Our Lord Jesus managed to turn this instrument of pain, humiliation, and death into a symbol of love, atonement, and victory.
Why are you so excited about Christ? Is it because he makes sure you are safe? Or maybe because he made sure you have school fees? What is it about Christ that makes you shout? The church has changed into a society of consumers. We come to church to be pampered. Jesus is no longer the king but a waiter who has to perform miracles and healing for a tip. We tip Jesus according to his goodness or his so goodness
Vision Talk is a divine mandate, a directive from God to His people, to achieve what He wants to achieve. It is God coming and telling us ‘these are my dreams, the things I want to achieve. Would you join me into achieving them?’ The point of departure is getting into an agreement with the Almighty God. "Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so"? Amos 3:3
God’s desire and design is that you make significant progress and development in life.
Robin Jones Glenn said: “If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together.” Someone else has said that if you can count your friends on the fingers of one hand you’re blessed.
The subject of friendship in the bible is meant to make a deep impression upon the mind
The way life works is that we all learn to live from somebody; parents, peers, people around us or even papers we read and programmes we watch. We become what we are exposed to. Who Jesus is in your life determines who is Lord over your life - if he is Lord in your life, your life will change and progress. What meaning do you give to your life? Life being meaningless or Life being meaningful?
Christian life is expressed in 5 areas: Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Service, Evangelism. Fellowship is defined as the coming together for building one another up. Holy Communion is an example of fellowship
Our goal is to present to God a church in great shape which He can use to affect our society positively through: 1. Strengthening unity 2. Structuring individual contribution 3. Stretching the body to maturity
The Christian view of life affirms that effective-living and fulfilment in life are the results of understanding and adopting “the mind of Christ”. The mind of Christ: his attitude, viewpoint, consciousness. Our Lord Jesus went from Sovereign to Servant to Supreme Sovereign because of his attitude to life.
Whether at an individual level or community level, true fulfillment can only find its full expression in divine purpose and destiny
