Let the river flow. For the holy spirit to flow we have to create a favorable atmosphere. The river only flows when there are no obstacles or barriers. Barriers to the flow of the holy spirit: 1) Attitude, 2) Ignorance (1 Corinthians 1:12), 3) Fear of the manifestation and 4) Despise -
too much rationality and spiritual background. For the holy spirit to manifest we have to create a conducive atmosphere, through: 1) Obedience, 2) Faith, 3) Prayer and 4) Unity.
Let the river flow calls for the manifestation of the holy spirit. Holy spirit will manifest in two ways: In us (Galatians 5:22) and Through us (1 Corinthians 12:1). When the holy spirit manifests in us our character is transformed to be Christ-like and through us
through spiritual gifts to bless others. The holy spirit can manifest in different ways, in each one of us, for the common good and for God to be glorified. Hence we have to aspire for the manifestation of the holy spirit.

Faith is important because we live by faith and not by sight. Faith is spiritual and the word of God is the source of faith. Faith is the only thing that produces miracles, new things. Faith is the only voice that God likes to hear and only language he respects. Faith is activated by your voice, it is not silent. Lastly faith is dependent on the word of God thus you have to saturate your brain with the word of God.
The work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Christians:
1.He enables us to be in right standing with God and to be in step with Him (in harmony with Him).2. He enables us to come to the true knowledge of God.3. He enables us to live victorious lives (He strengthens us). 4. He enables us to live out our identity effectively and have positive influence in society.God declares us righteous when we get born again. The Holy Spirit recreates/renews our inner man and gives us a new identity. He continues to intervene so that we may live this new life/identity indeed. He helps us to resist/overcome temptation. He helps us to make a distinction between right and wrong. If we obey Him, by His power we are able to be a positive influence in society (being true witnesses for Christ).
When we come into Christ, God fills us with His spirit, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit sanctifies us and guides us in the path of righteousness. Before we accepted Christ, we were under the influence of the world, but through salvation the Spirit of God takes over ( Gal 5:19 ). The Holy Spirit helps us to conquer the works of the flesh ( Gal 5 : 22) , the Holy Spirit strengthens us and it is through the Holy Spirit that we become the light in the world.
The Work of the Holy Spirit in the Church
A. To empower or bless God’s people through: Warnings, Revelations, Predictions. Two major obstacles i. Religious spirit (e.g. Acts 10:44-48) ii. Generational curses (e.g. Abraham > Isaac, Levi > Moses) B. To establish: A new family, A new destiny, A new covenant. Through the blood of this new covenant He has made us: i. Kings ii. Priests iii. Prophets. This was in order for us to be His witnesses. The success of our mission is in: One new language (Genesis 11:6 vs Acts 2:5-12). The expected outcome is: A harvest of souls
The primary work of the Holy Spirit: 1. Brings Salvation - The biggest blessing we wait and look for is in the 3 things (Spirit of Warning, Spirit of Revelation, Spirit of Prediction) 2. Obstacles to the work of the Holy Spirit in the church: Religious spirits, Generational curses. 3. Act of God through the Holy Spirit: Creates a new family, Gives us a new destiny, A new covenant. God's purpose is to make us kings, priests and prophets (Anointed of God)
The Holy Spirit is a divine person not just an environment or feeling. We need to understand the nature, attribute and work of the holy spirit. Advantages of knowing the holy spirit - Sanctification, Orientation, Revelation, Supernatural strength and Creativity & innovation. When the holy spirit shows up or when we have an encounter, it for us to devote ourselves to him. Our desire for the holy spirit is what will transform and move us. And the holy spirit will display its power to those who are humble and obedient.
What lessons do we learn from David? 1. God orchestrates opportunities for you to function in the anointing God has called you for 2. The things that move the heart of God will grip your heart when you are anointed 3. Even when opportunities present themselves they must be worthy of God 4. Beware of the "elder brother syndrome" 5. When opportunities arise, you must produce results after the engagement 6. Prepare for responsibility 7. Do not look for greatness
8 Learning Points (Day 1 to 3)
1. Jesus Christ is the prototype, configuration, quality and standardization 2. What we're being called to is more glorious than what we do 3. Transformation is a matter of necessity 4. Simple things can make a huge difference 5. There's a huge responsibility on this church for the city 6. Our inward condition remains the same if the change is not induced by the Holy Spirit. 7. The ultimate goal of the Holy Spirit is to give us a well ordered life. 8. Purpose precedes design
