The power of a willing soul

Hits: 269
Doing things in life is always dependent on the extent of your willingness. Everything starts with the will. Your soul cannot begin to touch lives until it is willing. In Luke 5:12 we learn from a leper that if you are willing you can do the impossible.

Pst TshaloLuke 5:12-16

An individual is formed out of 3 entities: A spirit, body that covers the man and allow him to express himself on earth, the soul the seat of intellect that allows to be in touch with god and his humanity. The soul is the seat of the will; a willing soul can achieve a lot.

In every field of life, there are people that have done extraordinary well and stood out above their peers. These people do not pursue a career but they go beyond the call of duty to touch lives. Luke wrote his book to teach us that Christianity is not a religion or a movement but a lifestyle based on changing and transforming lives.

Doing things in life is always dependent on the extent of your willingness. Everything starts with the will. Your soul cannot begin to touch lives until it is willing. In Luke 5:12 we learn from a leper that if you are willing you can do the impossible. A willing soul is a wining soul. Society is the way it is not because we do not have the means but because there are no willing souls. Compassion cannot wait when it sees suffering.  In the next verse (13), Jesus teaches that we cannot change anything unless we decide to do the unthinkable and touch the untouchable. Jesus reached out for the hand of the leper. When the church begins to touch the untouchable we will not have enough space to keep the unsaved. Can you touch the untouchable? When the church becomes church again, the unsaved will begin to flock in again. Every time someone touches you, without knowing, you will want to be where they are.

4 characteristics of willing souls:

1. Always seek for opportunities to make a difference.
They pray to God daily to be changed into becoming an instrument of righteousness. How would you make a summary of your life? Jesus spent his life on earth seeking opportunities to make a difference. Without making a difference, we are running a lost race. Acts 10:38

2. See opportunities to make a contribution.
What do you see when your eyes are opened? You cannot make a difference until you see an opportunity to do so. Luke 10:29-37

3. Use whatever they have to reach out and touch lives.
Everything goes back to what the leper told Jesus, if you are willing. So you can do anything if you are simply willing. Every time the church begins to touch the untouchable and do the unthinkable, people will begin to tell others about the love they have found in the church. Exodus 4:1-3; 2 Corinthians 8:12

4. Draw their power from their private communion with God to do public service. Mark 1:35-39
Intimacy with God is the key to curing the heart of a man. Jesus always withdrew from the crowd and prayed to his father regularly. By spending time with God you are bound to become like God over time. You become loving, giving, and caring like God. Let us cultivate the habit of praying daily to God to grants these 3 characteristics.  A life that makes sense is a life that is given away for many.
