The life of Jesus before Calvary
The very foundation of our celebration is the coming of our Lord Jesus in the world.
There are things that His coming ushered, that happened only once and will never happen again. In the entire history there is only one fully human that is also fully God. He is the most unique. He is God as much as the Father is God. God joined the human race in order to redeem it. He elevated the human race to a place it had never been before. He who created us is now one of us. Now there is a man in the Godhead just as there is God in the human race. One of God is a human. In celebration we come to worship Him who was born King. He came from God as God to live before God as man for us.
The life of Jesus at Calvary
The power of Christ's offering was enough to remove sin once and for all. He didn't just bear sin, He became sin, in order that we would not just obtain God's righteousness but that we would be God's righteousness. The life of flesh is in its blood. The life in Jesus' blood is the life of God, the 'Zoe' life. The blood of Jesus is the blood of God, the incorruptible blood. God loved us enough to shed God's blood. The earth couldn't be the ultimate place of indestructible blood. Heaven is where it had to go.
The life of Jesus after Calvary
Though we have been redeemed, we still need someone to represent us before God, just not on earth. Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us. Now, in Him we see a God both making and receiving prayers. God is now before God as a priest for us. The Priest who is making prayers for us is as much God as the one He is praying to and also is as much human as the ones he is praying for. The highest level of prayer is that which does not arise from earth to the Throne but that which arises from the Throne to God. There are times when God hears prayers from earth but the answer sometimes is, it is not yet time or it is not My will but when God prays to God the answer is always YES and NOW. No matter what you are going through, you are set to come out of it because God is praying to God on your behalf.
